The oldest traces of human habitation in Macedonia are the 30.000 year-old stone engravings found in the Kratovo area, as well as the astronomical observatory and religious ritual site of Taticev Kamen - Kokino, dating back almost 4.000 years.
Today, many ruins remain to witness its ancient heritage, in the sites of Heraclea, Stobi and Skupi, with amphitheaters and temples, decorated with fascinating mosaics and frescoes. From April to October most of country locations have an ideal climate that is perfect for both relaxing & enjoying the pristine natural environment either by the rivers and lakes or by the countryside and mountains, while during the rest of the year you can take advantage of the Macedonian ski resorts situated in Mavrovo National Park or Shar Mountain.
