Bulgaria: Magic Lives Here

The land of roses, Bulgaria, is a country of ancient culture, scenic beauty, friendly people, and great hospitality. Situated in south-eastern Europe, it occupies the central part of the Balkan Peninsula on both sides of the Balkan Mountains Range (the Balkans), from which the peninsula has taken its name.

For most foreign holidaymakers, Bulgaria’s main lure is its long, sandy Black Sea Coast – which still boasts swaths of stunning beaches and picturesque bays, networks of well-maintained hiking trails and horse-riding routes allow you to discover Bulgaria’s lush mountainous and forested landscapes, especially around the Rila and Pirin Mountains, inhabited by bears, lynx, rare birds and other kinds of wildlife now becoming scarce elsewhere in Europe. In the Bulgarian countryside, the traditional slow pace of life continues much as it has done for centuries.

Coming across the multicolored monasteries, filled with fabulous icons and watched over by bushy-bearded priests and impossibly pretty timber-framed villages with smoke curling lazily over the stone-tiled roofs and donkeys complaining in the distance. Headscarf old ladies stand by their curious grandchildren when visitors come over their villages. Bulgaria is a beautiful mountainous country with landscapes and beaches, perfect temperatures of water and air, with a historical and cultural heritage, one of the most visited tourist destinations in Southeast Europe offering different types of tourism, including cultural, architectural and historic tours, eco-tourism, and adventure tours which are expanding the range of visitor experiences.
